.: Limitless selections :.

Fruits of the season.

Recently on Feb 9, I went to Muar with my family and relatives to attend a cousins' wedding. After the 'Akad Nikah' ceremony, while awaiting the 'Bersanding' ceremony, we went to Tangkak to shop around. Being the uber-miserly and highly imaginative person that I am *coughs*, I spent my time visualizing how it's like to be there in the old days.

While I was brooding over my thoughts and simultaneously tugging my aunt away from the grasps of the ominous shopkeepers, I can't help but notice the greengrocers. Thinking back, I've never been an avid fruit and vegetable eater.

It's not that I'm not aware of the substantial amount of benefits that fruits and vegetables consumption offer to the wellness and wellbeing of our body.

Eversince young, my family has always included fruits and veggies as part of our diet. Yet, I never grow a liking to it.

These days, I try to increase my fruits and vegetables intake for the sake of health reasons; but with the exception of the ones that I find ghastly.

My definition of ghastliness:

Anything with a sour taste = Ghastly, Horrendous, Revolting, Disgusting... *You get the idea... haha!*

Prevention is better than cure.

.: Delectable morsels :.

Fresh from the oven.

Stumbled upon these photos when I was going through my files and I thought it'd be noble of me to share it. Beats salivating on my own. Do amuse me.

This is one of my mums' specialties. The "Acar"! *Do not be fooled by its grotesqueness till you try it.* She has several variations of the "Acar" and I absolutely have no recollection of which one this is. All I can say is that the method of making it is terribly tedious albeit the end result is just pure heaven. For someone that used to detest it, I can't seem to get enough of it now.

The "London Almond" or "Almond London". To be frank, I used to discard the almond; resulting to the discontent of my family. Nuts just wasn't my thing. Now that I'm older, I simply wolf it all down as I find that the almond doesn't taste that ghastly anymore.

The all time favorite. Presenting the ever exquisite "Pineapple Jam Rolls"!. This is not necessarily true given that the all time favorite is actually the "Pineapple Jam Tarts" but I don't have any photos of it. I'll post it once I have it. For the moment, relish your mind and soul in the equally luscious "Pineapple Jam Rolls".

Famous Amos? Forget it! There is nothing more tantalizing than simple home baked chocolate chip cookies. As far as I can remember, without fail my mum will bake these for the festivities and I'll be eating it by the mouthfuls.

All in all, these are just some of the fare made by my mum. To this point, I am barely qualified to be the "Official Food Tester" and "Baking Assistant" due to my lack of knowledge in the food preparations department. *I tend to get distracted easily.*

Stumbled upon this quote:

Nothing would be more tiresome than eating and drinking if God had not made them a pleasure as well as a necessity. --- Voltaire
