.: Masjid Negara :.

The National Mosque.

A while back, I went to the Islamic Arts Museum, Malaysia [IAMM] to view their showcase on Divine Inspiration: Seven Principles of Islamic Architecture. Close by is the National Mosque, in which every Friday, the national television channel will broadcast Friday prayers held there. The closest I’ve ever been to it then was seeing it in the telly.

As-salaamu'alaykum wa Rahmatu Llahi wa Barakatuhu my dearest sister,

Oh how very cool.. an Islamic Arts Museum!!! I want to be there :D

Interesting enough.. I just put my charcoal down from sketching out a masjid in Malaysia, and look what I find! (It's good to know we on the same page..hehe)

Thank you for sharing,
Love Farhana

Ms.Unique & Hajar:: Yeah. ^^

Miss Ash:: Wa'alaikumussalam. Yeap, minus the crowd. I've heard that it's the only place in KL that allocates a space for the women to perform the Friday prayers. Not sure on how true that is.

Sketched Soul:: Wa'alaikumussalam wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh dear Sister Farhana.

You know you're always welcomed here. :) Insya'Allah, I'll be going there again for another exhibition; The Art of Integration: Islam in Britain. ^^

Super! Which masjid is that? Aih~ Might we be mirror images of one another? Haha~

W'salam,
Hajar

As-salaamu'alaykum dearest Hajar,

Haha.. yuppers, we could be mirror images of each other :D except you don't like orange :P

Oh, this 'Art of Integration' sounds good as well. I hope you have a blast!!

I am drawing the Ubudiah Masjid.. and so far it's turning out to be more difficult than I'd planned. Only because I decided to charcoal it, and it has so much detail!! :D Insha'Allah I'll show you when I'm done.

Take care,
Love Farhana
