.: 明かされた秘密 :.

枸杞子

Stopped by the Chinese market and bought a pack of wolfberries (枸杞子) from a lady selling traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). The lady asked; “You know how to eat this?”, and I replied, “My little brother taught me to.”

Several days ago I received an email from my ‘little brother’. Many years back, he was a TCM student. Knowing how fragile my health can be, he would badger me to consume TCM medication and drill me with the terms. Ever since he shifted to Shanghai, our communication isn't as frequent.

I was having breakfast in the office when my colleague asked; “You alright? You have glassy eyes.” I laughed it off and said; “Guess the haze is getting to me. :)”

It wasn’t the haze. It was the short message that my ‘little brother’ had written in the email.

“I miss my sister.”
